If someone had told me a few months ago that I would find myself running all of the youth movement’s activities of the Ayalon region on Zoom, I wouldn’t have believed it. But here we are, and for the past three days I have been spending most of my time on group video calls training all of the counselors in the region, from junior counselors to adults, how to facilitate activities online. During the rest of my time, I am re-writing activities and curricula so they can be run online.
Today, Tuesday, hundreds of participants took part in our online activities. Learning a whole new system in just two days and working online is a real challenge and requires a lot of work. But more than anything it’s exciting, because it’s possible thanks to our amazing counselors, who are the most dedicated in the world and it’s clear to them that the coronavirus will not stop their love for their students.
It looks like it’s going to be a while that we’ll have to meet via screen, and I’m curious to see what new methods and activities we’ll invent along the way.
Stay healthy, and take care of each other.
