Supporting Israelis Under Fire

As Iran's missile barrage continues, we provide activities and emotional support for 200,000 nationwide, including children and families in bomb shelters and evacuee hotels.

Operating each of these emergency sites costs $1250 per day.

Help us to respond quickly as urgent needs continue to emerge.

Emergency Childcare for Essential Workers

In partnership with local communities, we have launched emergency childcare centers for the children of essential workers so that medical staff, security personnel, and critical service providers can continue their work. In Rosh HaAyin, Ashdod, Mazkeret Batya, Ramat Yishai, Afula, Akko, Be’er Sheva and beyond.

In Rosh HaAyin,  a day camp for medical workers kids.

Educational activities at evacuee hotels

Israel's new wave of evacuees is growing every day. We are already distributing donations of clothing and supplies in an evacuee center in Tel Aviv, and offering daily activities for the evacuated children and youth from Tel Aviv and Be'er Sheva. Our educators are running emotional-educational support activities for children to provide some normalcy among the uncertainty and loss, also giving parents a break.

Organizing activities in public shelters

Many families lack appropriate home shelters and are staying overnight in public bomb shelters in schools, parking lots, and subway stations.  Alongside our professional educators, hundreds of Jewish and Arab teen counselors trained by Dror Israel as emergency junior counselors are now being deployed with ready-to-use activity kits.

Trained teen leaders organize Purim activities in Akko's public shelters.

Pedagogy of Hope

Dror Israel Schools Network provides pedagogical guidance and trauma support for 10 elementary schools, 9 high schools, and 10 preschools. One such school, the Moledet Elementary School in Be'er Sheva, was hit by a missile fragment but thankfully the school was closed and nobody was harmed. All of our schools, including the Moledet School, are receiving personalized and trauma-informed guidance in support of staff and students, teaching towards hope in these times of war.

Dror Israel's teachers are trained to provide crucial support.
