We are proud to share an exciting achievement from Dror Israel’s Karmiel High School, part of the Dror Educational Centers network. The school has been named to the Ministry of Education’s list of outstanding high schools for 2026, receiving Level 1, the highest level of excellence.

Learning together, building connections, and sharing ideas beyond the classroom.

The Ministry’s recognition looks beyond academic results alone. Schools are recognized for achievements in educational values, social engagement, as well as academics, making this award especially meaningful for a school built around Dror Israel’s unique pedagogical approach.

Personal relationships and individual attention are at the heart of the school's approach to education.
Personal relationships and individual attention are at the heart of the school's approach to education.

At the Karmiel High School, students in grades 9 through 12 work toward their Israeli matriculation certificate while learning in an environment that emphasizes relationships, belonging, responsibility, and learning through experience.

Students learn hands-on certifications including dog training, agriculture, and horse care and riding, while developing social skills and volunteering in their community. Project-based and collaborative learning give students opportunities to discover their strengths while developing skills such as teamwork, initiative, critical thinking, and responsibility.

The Ministry of Education’s highest recognition demonstrates that this approach can go hand in hand with strong educational achievement.

Behind the award is the daily work of an entire educational community. We are deeply proud of the teachers and staff whose commitment to their students makes this work possible, and grateful to the parents, partners, the Ministry of Education, and the Karmiel Municipality for their ongoing support.

Learning by doing: Students develop practical skills, patience, and responsibility through dog training.

For Dror Israel, this recognition is an encouraging affirmation of something at the heart of our educational work: when young people are given meaningful relationships, opportunities to learn by doing, and a community that believes in their abilities, they can thrive.

Congratulations to the students, educators, and entire Dror Israel Karmiel High School community on this outstanding achievement!
