Hachaluz is Dror Israel’s social sports initiative, founded in 2010 by Dror Israel educators to promote fair and inclusive sports culture among children and youth. Since then, tens of thousands of participants have taken part in Hachaluz activities—through teams, tournaments, and unique community events.
Its aims to build a more just, equal, and tolerant society in Israel through accessible sports, with a strong focus on education, social group work, and community building.
What Is the Reserve League?
Since October 7th, hundreds of thousands of Israeli reservists have put their lives on hold to protect the country. After months of intense service, many return home to a different kind of challenge - one of isolation, instability, and physical and emotional exhaustion.
The Reserve League is a new initiative of Dror Israel, designed to meet this urgent need. It harnesses the power of sport to help reservists stay connected to their comrades, regain a sense of structure and purpose, and build community in civilian life.
As with all of Dror Israel’s programs, the Reserve League is built on the belief that strong communities are the foundation of a resilient society. Just as we support youth through education, evacuees through emergency response, and vulnerable neighborhoods through intentional educators’ communities—so too, we now stand with Israel’s reservists.
