Why Educators Communities?

Support Youth Healing • Rebuild Community • Strengthen Residents

On October 7th, we immediately jumped into action to help wherever we were needed, setting up makeshift schools and running programming in bomb shelters and evacuee centers. Since then we have been deeply involved in supporting evacuees, returnees, and communities living under constant rocket fire.

Many of our communities were some of the hardest hit on October 7th and today face a critical gap in young adult leadership. An estimated 50% of young adults who lived in these areas before the war have indicated they do not plan to return, leaving a void in community life and essential professions like education and youth programming, where young adults traditionally play a key role.

As trained educators, we are stepping up, moving in cohorts to fill vital roles as teachers, social workers, therapists, and informal educators. Hundreds of young educators are joining us, making the bold move to lead lives of purpose, helping recovering communities heal, renew, and rebuild.
